‘Drawn to Paint’ at Hare Hill Barn
Friday 3rd September 10 – 4
Hare Hill Barn, Cartmel Fell, Grange-over-Sands LA11 6NZ
A water based mixed-media expressive drawing and painting workshop using Wallace Seymour’s ancient drawing materials in combination with ink and watercolour.
The workshop fee includes cartridge paper, a set of Wallace Seymour drawing stones plus a small pot of ink.
I am pleased to announce that I will be back running ‘in person’ workshops from September. I hope that you are as ready as I am to work alongside others in a supportive group and in such an inspirational setting as this.
Hare Hill Barn is going to be such a wonderful location for my expressive watercolour classes. The open light filled space of the barn, with its full length picture window overlooking the fells and Morecambe Bay, is really going to encourage light, bright fluid paintings whatever the subject.
On this full day workshop you will be encouraged to work freely and expressively from a floral set up. With an emphasis on drawing and mark making I will be introducing you to my new favourite art medium, Wallace Seymours’ watersoluble drawing stones, which perfectly compliment my expressive watercolour and ink work.
This new set of drawing stones has just been developed especially for me to use in my floral paintings and I hope that you will love working with them as much a I do. In fact this workshop will offer you the perfect opportunity to experiment with these versatile pastels with my guidance and encouragement.
I will be supplying a small selection of the drawing stones and ink for you to use but you will need to provide your own watercolour paints, brushes and watercolour paper. (A full materials list will be supplied upon enrollment)
With guided exercises to encourage experimentation and expressive responses you can expect to go home with lots of ideas and studies.
To keep us all safe the numbers will be restricted pending further Government guidelines so do book early to secure your place.
We continue to be cautious about Covid19 and ask you follow our restrictions. There is plenty of space to socially distance. Please bring a mask with you and follow guidelines about sanitizing etc.
I am also asking that everyone provides their own lunch and refreshments. Hot and cold drinks will be available though you may prefer to bring your own.

What a view…
