You will not fail to be impressed by the setting of Hare Hill Barn.  The open light filled space of the the barn set in beautiful pasture land, with its full length picture window overlooking the fells and Morecambe Bay, will really encourage light, bright, fluid responses.

Let’s celebrate late spring together in all its abundance, inspired by a meadow full of colour, scent and texture.

Following a quick hello, coffee and introduction to the workshop in the barn, the morning will be spent immersed in the meadow watching my demo’s and gathering your own studies. The suggested exercises will guide you on an exploratory and sensory response to your surroundings working from various viewpoints as you unearth your own curiosity using a variety of dry and water based media.

The afternoon session, back in the barn, will then give you the opportunity to ‘unpack’ your experience – seeking out what aspects of the morning have made an impact on you and working with these memories, sensations and studies to develop ideas for one or more paintings.

Over the course of the day,  under my guidance, you will be able to build up a wonderful series of studies and developmental pieces which will hopefully inspire you and fuel your work beyond the workshop itself.

Open to all levels and abilities wishing to work with expression, freedom and lots of colour 🙂

A full materials list will be supplied 3 weeks before the workshop.

I am asking that everyone provides their own lunch but hot and cold drinks and light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
