Spring Workshops

I love the burst of energy the Spring brings and always feel compelled to offer a few weekend workshops.

This year is no different and I am happy to be sharing the lure of wabi-sabi with you as we explore the faded, transient and beauty of impermanence.

I have already been exploring the potential of  this Japanese concept with my regular students and it has now entered my own creative process as I explore collaging, textures and working with layering and time.

The first workshop is based around the notion of the vessel and pattern. Working from a treasured object we will be playing with surface, texture and motif before creating our own vessels in response.

The second workshop will explore the notion of wabi-sabi and the landscape. We will be creating a series of drawings, prints, collages and paintings in response to the transient time worn qualities of the Morecambe bay estuary.
