I suppose that lockdown has made us all embrace technology a little more hasn’t it? I know that I had been thinking of creating films of my painting process for a while now in order to help my students understand the techniques and materials that I use. But actually a lot of feedback has focused on the calming and peaceful nature of simply watching me paint, especially when it is filmed in real time. Maybe I will have to contact BBC4 and offer a film for their next ‘Go Slow’ day.
You can watch one of my recent watercolour paintings come into bloom on the Lake Artists Society Featured Artist page this month. Just follow this link, grab a cup of tea and enjoy… And if you would like to see it ‘for real’ it will be on show as part of a LAS exhibition at the Old Courthouse Gallery in Ambleside this summer from the 22nd August to the 5th September.
I have really enjoyed making these little documentary process films over the last few months so do keep an eye out on my Instagram and Facebook pages if you would like to see more…
