The Joy of a New Frame

I am currently getting work organised for my November solo show in Edinburgh at The Laurel Gallery in Stockbridge. I have been busy making a new series of abstract paintings on wooden panels and I am just loving this prototype frame that has been made especially for them. I have had a lot of fun trying the different pieces in the new frame which has been hand painted with a beautifully neutral Farrow and Ball white. I just love the way a frame adds character to a painting and makes it perfect for updating a home interior. This comes in at 48cm square too so it will fit in anywhere you need an injection of colour and joy…

  1. Hi Janette, please can you let me know where you got the frame in this article as it would be perfect for a piece of art I have. Many thanks in anticipation. Paula

    1. Hi Paula, I had it made especially. It is called a ‘St Ives’ frame if you have a framer who can make you one!
      Good luck, Janette
