We had a trip out in the sunshine today just beating the half term holiday traffic. My friend Debs had recommended we visit Allen Bank, a house which has been left to the National Trust and nestles within the stunning landscape of the Lake District.
Since it was damaged by a fire little has been done to restore it so the original charm and patina are evident throughout. I feel a painting visit coming on…
One of the rooms there is laid out for people to paint so I did a quick sketch of the antique chair using primary coloured blocks of paint – very liberating!
